• Winners of five-consecutive games, No. 7 Richmond heads into the First Round of the 2008 FCS Playoffs Saturday against No. 21 Eastern Kentucky, the Ohio Valley Conference champion.
• The Spiders are making their seventh all-time appearance in the FCS Playoffs, their second-straight and third in the last four years.
• Richmond is one of just eight schools with three or more NCAA Playoffs berths in the last four years -- the others are Appalachian State, Montana, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, New Hampshire, Eastern Illinois and James Madison.
• The pairing with Eastern Kentucky is a rematch of last year's NCAA First Round game, won by the Spiders 31-14 at UR Stadium.
• The Spiders are ranked seventh in the Sports Network poll this week, marking the 18th-straight week that Richmond has appeared in the nation's Top-10 -- the third-longest active streak in the FCS.
• Senior TB Josh Vaughan (pictured) is the CAA's top running back and ranked 10th in the FCS in rushing (117.8 yds/game).
• Anchored by senior DEs Lawrence Sidbury and Sherman Logan, the Spiders rank fifth in the FCS in total defense (249.5 yds/game). Five straight UR opponents (and nine this season) have failed to rush for more than 100 yards.
• The Spiders had 12 selections to the 2008 CAA Football All- Conference Team, led by first-team picks Josh Vaughan (TB), Lawrence Sidbury, Jr. (DE), Justin Rogers (CB), Matthew McCracken (OL), Eric McBride (LB) and Kevin Grayson (WR).
