Bill Polin Named Richmond's New Offensive Line Coach

Feb. 15, 2008
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - New football head coach Mike London has announced the final addition to his coaching staff, naming Bill Polin to the position of offensive line coach. Polin, who worked with London at Virginia, comes to the Spiders from Stonehill College.
"I am very excited to be a part of Coach London's staff," said Polin. "It's an honor to be at a school with a great football tradition and a strong academic reputation."
Polin spent last season as the offensive coordinator at Stonehill, a Division II school in Easton, Mass., and was the running backs coach at Hofstra in 2006.
"We are very excited to add Bill to the staff," said London. "I worked with him at Virginia and he has proven himself to be a great technician and a great teacher. I look forward to him leading our offensive line, which I feel will be one of the strengths of this team next year."
Building an impressive resume over the last eight seasons, Polin started his coaching career with Division III Middlebury as the tight ends and assistant offensive line coach. From there, he served as offensive line coach at Dartmouth and later at Virginia for two seasons as a graduate assistant from 2004-05.
In 2005, following the departure of four assistant coaches from the UVa staff prior to the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl, Polin coached the offensive line in a 34-31 win over Minnesota.
Polin is a 2000 graduate of Colby College with a degree in American studies.
