On Eve Of Spring Practice, London Invites Football Alumni Back To Campus

Feb. 28, 2008
Open Letter From Head Football Coach Mike London
Dear Spider Football Alumni,
First of all I would like to say how thankful and proud I am to be the new head football coach at our University. I am a 1983 graduate. I played for Jim Tait and Dal Shealy.
My staff is comprised of some great coaches and teachers. Two members of the staff are Richmond graduates as well; Jeff Hanson a 1977 grad and Scott Burton a 1995 grad.
Things have been busy as we prepare for spring practice which starts this Friday at First Market Stadium at 3:30 p.m. As a football alumnus you are encouraged and welcome to come watch practices. We will begin going every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. For specific times call the football office at 804-287-6846.
Our spring game is scheduled for April 5th. You may be aware of that weekend because there is a golf outing planned as well. My staff will be participating in this event and look forward to seeing you. The weekend is planned for you in mind. You are welcome around UR football anytime. You are part of the history and success of this great school. We are doing some exciting things around here both on and off the field. I need your support to continue the proud football tradition.
I will keep you informed often through emails. Please call on me or the staff if we can help or assist you.
I look forward to seeing you again or meeting you for the first time.
Go Spiders!
Mike London
