Eric Ward Now Featured In Weekly CAA Football Spring Blog

March 26, 2008
RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond rising junior quarterback Eric Ward has submitted his first Spring Football Blog to the CAASports.com website, as the conference will track player blogs once again this off-season. Ward, the 2006 Offensive Rookie of the Year in the conference, helped lead the Spiders to the CAA Football Championship in 2007 and the school's first-ever appearance in the NCAA National Semifinals.
Ward will provide a candid look at Spider Football each week throughout the Spring Football season. Tim Hightower was the Spiders' blogger last season.
The Spiders annual Spring Game is set for Saturday, April 5th at 1 p.m. on campus at First Market Stadium.
CAASports.com plans to follow the 2008 spring season in a behind-the-scenes fashion with the 2008 CAA Football Spring Blog. Various student-athletes from all 12 league schools will be contributing to this season's blog throughout the offseason. Log on to www.caasports.com each Wednesday beginning today, then click on the "2008 CAA Football Spring Blog" button to get a player's point-of-view on the season before the real season begins in August.
Last year more than 10 student-athletes took part in the blogging, which chronicled their team's spring season, who to watch in the fall and their outlook on the upcoming season. CAASports.com received close to 7,000 hits during the six-week 2007 edition of the CAA Football Spring Blog, and hope to receive even more attention this season following unprecedented success last fall.
