Quick Slants:
No. 1 Richmond continues on the road Saturday, making its first trip to Maine since 2005 for a 12 p.m. ET kickoff versus the Black Bears. The game can be seen live on Comcast SportsNet.
The Spiders have won a school-record 14-consecutive games, dating back to last season. It's a streak that ranks as the longest in the FCS and second-longest in Division I football behind Florida (15).
Richmond currently owns the longest road winning streak in Division-I football of nine games -- the Spiders' last road loss was Sept. 27 at Villanova.
At 5-0 overall and 3-0 in CAA Football, Richmond sits alone in first place in the rugged South Division and remains as one of just 14 undefeated teams in Division I football (five in the FCS).
The Spiders lead the all-time series versus the Black Bears 11-10 and have won two-straight in the series.
Richmond has won eight-consecutive games versus CAA North Division opponents and its all-time winning percentage of .750 (12-4) in intradivision games is second-best in league history.
Senior QB Eric Ward improved to 35-10 in his career as the Spiders' starter, including 14-5 versus Top-25 teams, thanks to last week's 21-17 win at No. 13 JMU.
Ward's next TD pass will be the 55th of his career and break the team's career mark.
Junior WR Kevin Grayson was named to the AFCA Good Works Team, joining Florida's Tim Tebow and 21 others college players nationwide to be honored.
Junior LB Eric McBride has recorded back-to-back double-digit tackle games and recovered the game-clinching fumble in the final minute at JMU.
Junior FB Ben Keating scored all three TDs in the JMU win.

The Spiders are home next Saturday to host Massachusetts in a key Top-25 battle among intradivision rivals. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.
