Richmond City Council To Honor CAA Champ Spiders

Jan. 25, 2010
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND - The Richmond City Council will recognize the University of Richmond football team for its 2009 CAA Football Championship at Monday night's meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall in downtown Richmond.
The Spiders, who will be represented by rising seniors Eric McBride, Kevin Grayson, Patrick Weldon, Drew Lachenmayer, assistant coach Byron Thweatt and Director of Athletics Jim Miller, are receiving City Council recognition for the second-consecutive season after being honored for the National Championship victory in 2008. Due to a prior commitment, new head coach Latrell Scott will not be in attendance.
Richmond finished the 2009 season 11-2 overall and went 7-1 in CAA Football play to earn a share of the conference title with eventual National Champion Villanova.
The City Council Chambers are located on the second floor of City Hall (900 East Broad Street) and the meeting is open to the public.
