Team Notes
Richmond improved to 11-0 following an in-season loss since the end of the 2006 season... Not since 2006 has Richmond lost back-to-back games in the same season.
The Spiders have won both overtime games this season (both at Robins Stadium) and improved to 10-1 all-time in games decided in overtime.
The victory by Richmond snapped a string of six-straight wins by the road team in the Richmond-JMU series... Not since 2003 has the home team won in the series and not since 2002 have the Spiders defeated the Dukes in Richmond.
Saturday's game was the first overtime decision in the 28-game all-time series and marked the fourth-consecutive Richmond-JMU to be decided either in the last minute or overtime... Six of the last seven Richmond-JMU games have been one-score decisions... All-time scoring in the series: Richmond 619, JMU 614.
Richmond increased its lead over JMU in the all-time series to 16-12.
Saturday's game was the fourth sell-out in the five-game history of Robins Stadium.
Richmond improved to 20-8 versus ranked opponents since the start of the 2007 season.
Individual Notes
Senior LB Eric McBride tied his career-high in tackles (18), which he previously set versus Coastal Carolina this season.
McBride moved to third on Richmond's all-time tackles list (428) and needs just two more tackles to take over second place -- currently held by Larry Braun (1977-80). The all-time record at Richmond is 643 tackles by Eric Johnson (1989-92).
Senior LB Patrick Weldon recorded a career-high 16 tackles, as did sophomore LB Darius McMillan (14).
Senior DT Martin Parker recorded a sack in the game, and moved to ninth on Richmond's all-time with 17.0... Parker has 3.5 sacks this season.
Senior CB Justin Rogers broke the CAA Football career record for kickoff returns in the game -- a record held by former Villanova star and nine-year NFL veteran Brian Westbook... Rogers needed just four yards for the record and finished the game with 56 yards on three returns... Rogers has 2,486 yards in his career.
Sophomore K Wil Kamin improved to a perfect eight-for-eight on field goals in his career (all this season).
Sophomore John Laub made first career start and threw his first career TD pass -- 41-yards to Tre Gray that tied the game at 7-7 in the second quarter.
Laub's pass to Gray was his second TD reception this season and 10th of his carer.
Laub becomes the third different Richmond QB to lead a game-winning drive this season -- junior Aaron Corp led the game-winning drive in OT to beat Elon, 27-21 (9/18) and true freshman Montel White's drive won the game at UMass, 11-10 (10/16).
