Football Season Tickets Sold Out For 2010

June 4, 2010
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND - With the excitement surrounding the opening of Robins Stadium this fall, the University of Richmond Department of Athletics announced Friday that its 4,000 football season tickets have sold out for the 2010 season.
A limited number of individual game tickets will go on sale August 1, if available. Spider Club members and current season ticket holders will have priority in purchasing those tickets.
A seat selection process began April 28 for previous football season ticket holders, and on May 26 the process was opened to Spider Club members who were not previous season-ticket purchasers. In that time, nearly 3,500 of the available 4,000 season tickets were sold.
The remaining season tickets went on sale to the general public Monday, and those tickets were sold out Tuesday. Remaining seats in the stadium will be used for UR students, players' families, prospects and visiting teams (per CAA Football regulations).
The Robins Center Ticket Office is currently forming a waiting list for season tickets. Please call 1-877-SPIDER-1 for more information.
On the heels of the 2008 National Championship and the opening of the $25 million Robins Stadium this season, excitement surrounding the Richmond Football program is high. That excitement is reflected in season-ticket sales, which have more than doubled since before the 2008 season.
Richmond sold 1,737 season tickets in 2008, increased that number to 2,720 last year following the National Championship, and will boast approximately 4,000 season tickets sold for the Robins Stadium inaugural season in 2010.
The Spiders host Elon on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. in the inaugural game Robins Stadium. Richmond, which has a 16-3 record at home since 2007 and has claimed two CAA Football titles in that time, plays six home games in 2010.
