Opening statement:
"Obviously, we're very disappointed in how we came out. They jumped on us early. You have to give UMass credit with what they did early. That onside kick gave them the early momentum and they stayed on us all day. I think after our defense settled in, we played much better throughout the course of the day. We had too many turnovers. You can't beat a good football team turning the ball over like we did. Kids kept playing hard. We just need to do a better job, all the way around.

"We just didn't come out playing well early. I give the defense credit for playing better in the second half. They had a couple of goal-line stands that held the UMass offense in check. We just couldn't generate enough on offense. The turnovers really hurt us.

"We took a step back today. We talked about now playing for our fifth-year seniors and pride in our program. We can bounce back and play spoiler to a couple of teams in the next few weeks. We have three more games. This has been a resilient group of kids and I expect them to act no different the rest of the season. We didn't do a good enough job today."

"We're certainly happy with a win down here against a good Richmond team. We were able to get out to a great start and able to hang on for the win. I thought we played well in every quarter of the game. Obviously, the turnovers were critical for us. You have to convert turnovers if you want to win on the road in the CAA. I'm very excited about our quality win against a good Richmond team."

Advantage of the short field:
"It was a game-changer. It offered us the chance to capitalize on the Richmond turnovers and gave us good field position. It's a morale boost for us."

"It was part of the game plan. We've had it all year but hadn't had a chance to use it. Our guys did a great job of executing it today."

"Corp can do everything with the ball, and I'm really excited we were able to get to him today. Tre Gray is hard to contain. We were able to contain them through the course of the game which is a credit to our defense."

"We wanted to get after Corp, he's a good quarterback and we knew if he sat in the pocket, he'd make some big-time plays. We just wanted to ride on him and I think we did that today. We wanted to create turnovers. We were able to get turnovers and short-fields and I think that was the difference in the game."
