Gray, McMillan Garner All-America Honors

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - After turning in stellar 2011 seasons, senior WR Tre Gray and junior LB Darius McMillan represent the Spiders on the national stage with All-America honors. Gray was named to the Associated Press All-America Third Team in addition to the Sports Network and College Sports Madness All-America Second Teams, while McMillan was selected as a College Sports Madness Third Team All-American.
Gray, who has been called the "best receiver in the league" by both New Hampshire head coach Sean McDonnell and James Madison head coach Mickey Matthews, led CAA Football with 95 receptions and 1,187 yards in 2011, both of which mark Richmond season records, while also setting Spider career marks with 243 receptions and 3,101 yards. The Cuero, Texas, native wrapped up his collegiate career with seven 100-yard receiving games, six of which came this season.
The senior standout's 16 catches and 194 yards receiving versus New Hampshire were both career highs and single-game bests in the league in 2011. Gray finished the season ranked fourth nationally in FCS with 8.64 receptions per game and was sixth with 107.9 receiving yards per game.
McMillan recorded double-digit tackles in 10 of 11 games this season. He highlighted his junior campaign by turning in a career-high 20 tackles in the season-finale against William & Mary. His 20 stops were the second-most in a CAA game this season. The Hampton, Va., product finished 2011 ranked second in the league with 133 tackles and 12.1 tackles per game. McMillan led the Spiders in stops each of the last five games.
