Season Ticket Sales Up For 2011, Still Available

July 20, 2011
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND - The anticipation for University of Richmond Football is growing rapidly with the season less than two months away and the Spiders have announced season-ticket sales have surpassed last year's totals. Richmond's home-opener at Robins Stadium is set for Saturday, Sept. 10 versus Wagner at 6 p.m.
After selling out its season-ticket allotment in the inaugural season at Robins Stadium in 2010, the Spiders renewed nearly 90 percent of those tickets and have added more than 200 new accounts (over 500 new season tickets) this off-season.
A limited number of season tickets still remain for the 2011 season, and those wishing to purchase may contact the Robins Center Ticket Office by phone at 1-877-SPIDER-1 or visit RichmondSpiders.com.
A season-ticket waiting list of nearly 200 individuals was formed last season, and the Spiders were able to allot additional season tickets for the 2011 season due to a reallocation of tickets held for department use. The stadium's capacity remains at 8,700.
A limited amount of single game sales become available to the general public on August 1st.
The Athletics Department also plans to increase crowd interactivity and in-stadium entertainment at Robins Stadium with the following:
• The Family Fun Zone will now be inside Robins Stadium, under the videoboard featuring inflatable games, face-painters, a balloon artists, children-friendly concessions and much more to entertain the younger Spider fans.
• Marching bands from area high schools have been invited to entertain the crowd on Game Days.
• New interactive social media outlets and more crowd interactive elements for the video board will be used to engage fans on Game Days.
• The Spiders Kid's Club has been expanded to include two football games this season.
The Spiders host six home games at Robins Stadium in 2011, highlighted by games versus long-time Commonwealth rivals VMI and William & Mary, along with the first two night games in the stadium's history.
