ESPN3 To Broadcast CAA Football Media Day Live

(From CAAFootball.com) - CAA Football Media Day Live, a two-hour broadcast of 2011 CAA Football Media Day on ESPN3.com, will highlight the league's annual kickoff event, Wednesday, July 27. CAA Football Media Day Live, the first broadcast of its kind at the NCAA Division I Football Championship level, will air 10 a.m.-12 p.m., live from M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md., and feature each of the league's head coaches as well as selected student-athletes from around the league.
Not only will CAA Football and FCS fans around the country be able to watch the show previewing the upcoming 2011 season, but they will also have the opportunity to interact with each other and the league regarding media day. CAA Football will run a CoverItLive blog on CAAFootballblog.com in conjunction with the ESPN3 broadcast, and will also post updates throughout the day using its Twitter and Facebook feeds. The official twitter hashtag for the 2011 CAA Football Media Day and Media Day Live ESPN3 broadcast is #CAAFBmd. Official tweets will include this hashtag and all media and fans are also asked to use it in their tweets related to the event.

In addition to the live ESPN3 broadcast, the 2011 Preseason All-Conference Football squad as well as the Preseason Players of the Year and predicted order of finish will be officially announced during the event which begins at 9 a.m. CAA Football, along with its television partners Comcast SportsNet and The Comcast Network, plan to officially release the 2011 CAA Football Television Schedule. This season's slate will again feature one of the largest broadcast footprints for any Football Championship Subdivision Conference in the country, reaching more than 150 million homes across the country. In 2010, 39 of the league's 79 games were televised including seven national broadcasts. CAA Football's 19-game conference television package in 2010 reached nearly 165 million households thanks to its partnership with the Comcast Sports Group.
CAA Football is poised for yet another run at the NCAA Division I National Championship in 2011. The league, which will welcome Old Dominion to its fold in in 2011, returns six All-Americans and 12 First Team All-CAA Football award winners from 2010. CAA Football has seen one of its league members advance to the Division I National Championship game seven of the last eight seasons and each of the last five years. Delaware and James Madison (2003-04) and Richmond and Villanova (2008-09) twice earned consecutive National Championships for the league in its championship appearance span dating back to 2003. CAA Football will again add to its full-time member roster in 2012 when Georgia State joins the fold. Georgia State head coach Bill Curry and two Panther football student-athletes are scheduled to take part in the 2011 CAA Football Media Day event.
