Football Opens Training Camp This Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND -- With the start of camp just days away, RichmondSpiders.com is your source for Training Camp coverage as the Spiders prepare for the second season under head coach Latrell Scott. You can find photo galleries, interviews, highlights and much more here on the Spiders' official site, on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
Coach Scott officially welcomes his team back Thursday morning, and the Spiders will go through various meetings and team dinner, before practice the first official practice of the 2011 campaign on Friday.
A select number of practices are open to the public:
• Saturday, Aug. 6 -- 3 p.m. (Lower Grass Field)
• Wednesday, Aug. 10 -- 7 p.m. (Robins Stadium)
• Saturday, Aug. 13 -- 3 p.m. (Scrimmage #1; Robins Stadium)
• Thursday, Aug. 18 -- 7 p.m. (Robins Stadium)
• Saturday, Aug. 20 -- 4 p.m. (Scrimmage #2; Robins Stadium)
The Spiders plan to utilize both Robins Stadium and the Lower Grass Field (practice field adjacent to River Road) during Training Camp.

Richmond opens the season Sept. 3 at Duke at 7 p.m., with the 2011 Robins Stadium opener set for Sept. 10 versus Wagner at 6 p.m. A limited number of season and single-game tickets are now on sale and may be purchased by calling 1-877-SPIDER-1 or visiting the Robins Center Ticket Office.
