Try Out Information To become a University of Richmond cheerleader, you'll need to attend and participate in tryouts. Fall tryouts are held the first week of the academic calendar (August). Tryouts consist of a three day timeframe, learning materials alongside getting to know the coaches and current team members. Contact Cynthia McMillan at cmcmilla@richmond.edu for more information.
The University's cheerleaders are recognized as a "tradition" at the university. The team continually represents the school both on and off the field and court, at cheer clinics, and with community engagements throughout the city. Spider pride and the nonstop drive to improve are just a few trademarks of UR's cheer team. Our co-ed team performs at both home football games at Robins Stadium and may travel for postseason games as well as performing at men's and women's basketball home games at the Robins Center. Nothing is better than having front row seats to exciting rivalry games!
What's it like to be a UR Spider Cheerleader? As full time students, attending classes, practices, conditioning and games are all part of being a UR cheerleader. Our home football games are typically on Saturdays. Men and Women's basketball games are normally two or three games per week during basketball season.
