Richmond Football Enters National Rankings

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - After taking down the No. 2-ranked James Madison Dukes this past Saturday at a sold-out Robins Stadium, the University of Richmond Spiders football team entered the national rankings at No. 25 in the latest The Sports Network FCS Top 25 poll released on Monday.
After first-year head coach Danny Rocco, the Spiders have had a resurgent 2012 season, posting a 5-3 record through eight games. The national ranking is the first for Richmond in exactly a year, as the Spiders were last ranked No. 18 in the country on October 22, 2011.
In the FCS Coaches Poll, the Spiders are receiving votes, just four spots shy of the Top 25.
The Richmond Spiders football team will play host to the Rhode Island Rams on Homecoming at Robins Stadium on November 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
