Spider Football Ranked No. 22 In Latest Poll
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The University of Richmond Spiders football team jumped three spots to No. 22 in the latest Sports Network FCS Top 25 poll released on Monday. Richmond earned its first national ranking of the year last week after upsetting then No. 2-ranked James Madison.
Under first-year head coach Danny Rocco, the Spiders have had a resurgent 2012 season, posting a 5-3 record heading in to their game with Rhode Island this Saturday. In the FCS Coaches Poll, the Spiders are receiving votes for the second-straight week, just two spots shy of the Top 25.
The Richmond Spiders football team will play host to the Rhode Island Rams on Homecoming at Robins Stadium on November 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
