The Richmond Spiders enter Saturday's contest at Villanova having scored 35 or more points in four straight games. That streak is the longest for the Spiders since the 2005 season when the Spiders scored 35 or more in four-consecutive games. In its 129 years of football, Richmond has never scored 35 or more points in five-straight games.

The Richmond Spiders are leading the nation heading into this weekend, having allowed just one sack all year. The Spiders are tied with The Citadel and Lehigh atop the category, having just given up the team's first sack this past week against Old Dominion.

Taylor Added to Buchanan Award Watch List
After totaling 27 tackles, three interceptions, 1 one touchdown and four pass breakups this season, Richmond senior DB Cooper Taylor was added to the Buck Buchanan Award Watch List on October 3. The Buchanan Award is given annually to the best defensive player in the FCS.

Richmond Looking to Reverse Recent Trend at Villanova
The Richmond Spiders will be looking to turn their luck around at Villanova on Saturday. The Spiders have lost the last four games played at Villanova, with the last Spider win coming on October 28, 2000 when Richmond defeated the Wildcats, 28-18.

On This Date in Spider Football History
On October 6, 1934, the Richmond Spiders football team defeated Cornell on the road, 6-0. The 1934 season was a terrific one for the Spiders, as the team led by head coach Glenn Thistlewaite, went on to set the then-school record for wins with an 8-1 overall record.

Magic Number is 30
The Spiders are 40-5 since 2005 when scoring 30+ points (3-1 in 2012). The only five setbacks over the last five seasons when scoring 30+ came to Appalachian State in the 2007 NCAA Semifinals, 55-35, to then-No. 1 James Madison, 38-31, in 2008, to App State in the 2009 Quarterfinals, 35-31, to New Hampshire, 45-43, in 2011 and to No. 4 Old Dominion in 2012, 45-37.

Lights Out When Leading at the Half
Richmond is 51-5 since the start of 2004 when leading at the half. (3-0 in 2012). The four setbacks came in 2006 at No. 1 UNH, in 2004 versus No. 12 Maine, in 2008 versus No. 1 James Madison, to No. 5 Appalachian State in the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2010 and to No. 9 Maine in 2011.

Third-Quarter Dominance
Through four games this season, the Richmond Spiders are dominating their opponents in the third quarter, out-scoring them 54-14. Against VMI on September 15, the Spiders ran away from the Keydets scoring 28 unanswered points in the frame.

Laub Posts Career Numbers Against Old Dominion
In the Spiders' 45-37 loss to then-ranked No. 4 Old Dominion on September 29, senior QB John Laub had a career day. Laub set career-best marks with 27 completions, 44 attempts and 339 yards. Laub also tied his single-game mark with two touchdown tosses. The 300-yard passing game was the first in the career for the Coplay, Pa. native.

Howell Continues Strong Play Versus Monarchs
Senior DB Doug Howell continued his strong play of late against then-ranked No. 4 Old Dominion on September 29, picking off his third pass in the past two games, taking the interception back 22 yards for his first career score. Howell also had a career-best nine tackles.

Edwards Shreds Old Dominion
In Richmond's 45-37 loss to then-ranked No. 4 Old Dominion, junior WR Ben Edwards had his best day in a Spider uniform. Edwards had a career-high 182 receiving yards, matching his career-best with 11 receptions and one touchdown. Edwards had a brilliant catch-and-run in the first quarter for the Spiders, taking it in from 39 yards for a score.
