Team Notes
- With the Spiders win over William & Mary and Towson's
victory over New Hampshire, Richmond claimed a share of the CAA Football
title. The CAA Championship is the 11th
overall conference championship in program history and the third CAA title
(2007, 2009).
- With the victory over William & Mary, Richmond cut the
Tribe's lead in the "Oldest Rivalry in the South" to 61-56-5.
- The win at Zable Stadium is the first for the Spiders
since a 23-20 win in overtime on November 22, 2008.
- Since the 2004 season, Richmond is 55-5 (7-0 in 2012) when
leading at the half.
- Richmond was held scoreless in the third quarter for the
first time all season. On the year, the
Spiders have out-scored their opponents, 110-27, in the third quarter.
- Richmond intercepted a pass for the ninth-straight game,
pushing its NCAA-leading total to 24.
Player Notes
- Junior WR Ben Edwards had a career-high 13 catches on the
day, pushing his season total to 80 on the season. His 80 single-season receptions are the
second-most in school history. Edwards' 13 receptions were also a CAA-high this season.
- Senior FB Kendall Gaskins had a pair of touchdowns in the victory, pushing
his season total to 16 and his career total to 38. Gaskins' 16 scores are the third-most in any
one season and his 38 career TDs are also second, one behind school
record-holder Tim Hightower.
