Richmond Football Rises In The National Polls
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - After dismantling Rhode Island last Saturday at a sold-out Robins Stadium, 39-0, the University of Richmond Spiders football team rose in the latest national polls released on Monday.
In the Sports Network FCS Top 25 poll, the Spiders moved up two spots from No. 22 last week to No. 20 this week. After receiving votes the last two weeks in the Coaches Poll, Richmond entered the rankings for the first time at No. 23.
Under first-year head coach Danny Rocco, the Spiders have had a resurgent 2012 season, posting a 6-3 record heading in to their game with Delaware this Saturday at Robins Stadium.
