- The 37-0 win over Rhode Island marked the first shutout for Richmond since blanking VMI, 34-0, on August 31, 2013.
- The Spider defense forced six turnovers against the Rams, the most since the team forced seven against Rhode Island on November 13, 2010.
- Richmond’s offense has scored at least 37 points in five of the seven games this season.
- With its 13-0 lead after the first quarter against the Rams, Richmond has out-scored its opponents in the opening frame this season, 75-10.
- With the victory, Richmond has now won three of its last four and six of their last eight games on Homecoming Weekend.
Player Notes
- DB David Jones interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter was the first for Richmond since November 3, 2012, when DL Justin Williamson ran a pick back against Rhode Island.
- Jones added a second interception later in the second quarter, pushing his career total to three.
- Jones is the first Spider with multiple interceptions in one game since DB Wayne Pettus had two picks against Rhode Island on October 19, 2013.
- After setting a career-high with a 41-yard field goal in the first quarter, K Peter Yoder surpassed that high with a 43-yarder in the second quarter.
- LB Aaron Roane notched an interception in his second-straight game with his pick in the first quarter.
- DL Winston Craig blocked a potential Rhode Island field goal in the first quarter – the first blocked field goal for Richmond since September 21, 2013 when DB Wayne Pettus blocked a pair of kicks.
- DB DeShawn Holmes had his first career interception at the end of the first quarter.
- LB Eric Wright’s interception in the second quarter was his first this season and the second of his career.

- QB Michael Rocco made his first start for the Spiders against Rhode Island. Rocco made 21 starts for Virginia prior to transferring to Richmond.
