Rocco’s Impressive Record in November
In his nine seasons as a head coach, the Spiders’ Danny Rocco has posted a record of 21-4 (.840) in the month of November. At Richmond, Rocco is 7-0 in the month, including a perfect 4-0 mark in 2013.
Spiders Move Up In National Rankings
With its impressive win over the Phoenix, the Spiders moved up to No. 13 in the latest Sports Network Poll released on Monday – up three spot from the previous week. In the FCS Coaches Poll, Richmond also moved up three places to No. 14. Richmond has been nationally ranked 20 of the past 25 weeks.
Richmond vs. Ranked Opponents
The Richmond Spiders come in to Saturday’s game against New Hampshire having won two of its last three games against ranked opponents. Dating back to the 2007 season, Richmond is 23-20 against ranked opponents. The last time Richmond defeated a top-five team was on October 20, 2012, when the Spiders beat No. 2 James Madison, 35-29, at Robins Stadium.
Defense Collects Seven Sacks at Elon
The Richmond Spiders defense collected seven sacks in a 30-10 win at Elon on October 25. DL Justin Williamson had three, DL Evan Kelly two and LB Eric Wright and Omar Howard each had one.
