Spider Football Announces 2015 Schedule

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Spiders football team announced its 11-game, 2015 schedule on Monday – a slate highlighted by five home games at Robins Stadium.
For the first time since the 2009 season, the Spiders will begin the year with back-to-back road games. Richmond will open the 2015 season against Maryland on September 5. The game will mark the 19th meeting between the two schools but the first since the 1977 season.
Following the game at Maryland, the team will head to in-state rival Hampton on September 12. Richmond will close the non-conference portion of its schedule the following week on September 19 when the team plays host to in-state rival VMI in the 90th meeting between the two programs.
After a bye week, the Spiders will begin CAA conference play with a pair of home games. The team will host Maine on October 3 for Family Weekend, before facing Elon at Robins Stadium on October 10.
Richmond will end the season with four of its final six games on the road, beginning with a meeting against Rhode Island on October 17. The following week, the Spiders will head to Harrisonburg to face James Madison on October 24.
The Spiders will return home to Richmond on October 31 when the team will host Albany on Homecoming Weekend at Robins Stadium. UR will then get back on the road on November 7 to play at New Hampshire, before traveling to Villanova on November 14.
The regular season comes to a close on November 21, when Richmond hosts William & Mary to continue "The South's Oldest Rivalry” in the 125th game between the two schools.
Ticket information for the 2015 Spider Football season will be released later in the year.
