Rocco’s Impressive Record in November
In his nine seasons as a head coach, the Spiders’ Danny Rocco has posted a record of 22-5 (.815) in the month of November. At Richmond, Rocco is 8-1 in the month, including a perfect 4-0 mark in 2013.
Kelly Climbs the All-Time Sack List
DL Evan Kelly is just 0.5 sacks away from cracking the career sack list at Richmond. With his 5.0 sacks this season, Kelly sits at 16.0 for his career – just 0.5 away from 10th place Josh Spraker.
Yoder Leads CAA In Field Goals
Sophomore PK Peter Yoder is doing just fine in his first season as the team’s field goal kicker, leading the CAA in field goals made (16) and scoring amongst kickers (72). Yoder ranks fifth in the nation in field goals made per game at 1.60. Yoder 16 field goals made places him in a tie for fourth on Richmond’s single-season FGM list.
On This Date in Spider Football History
On November 15, 1902, the Richmond Spiders defeated Hampden-Sydney, 23-11, to push the team’s win total to three, tying the then-school record for most wins in a season.
