Richmond?s Howard Earns CAA Football Weekly Honor

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond Spiders LB Omar Howard was named CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday morning, the league office announced.
In Richmond’s 10-9 victory over No. 3/4 Villanova this past Saturday, Howard was everywhere, collecting a career-high 18 tackles and a sack. Howard’s 18 stops were the most for any Richmond player since Darius McMillan had 20 tackles against William & Mary in 2011. The 18 tackles is also the second-most of any player in the CAA this season.
On the season, the Midlothian, Va. native ranks second on the team with 55 tackles on the season and is tied for third on the squad with 3.0 sacks. Along with the CAA honor, Howard was also named CAA Defensive Player of the Week by College Sports Madness on Sunday.
