Fan Information For Spider Football Spring Game

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond athletic department has released important fan information for the 2014 spring football game. The annual Spider spring game will be played at Robins Stadium at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 19. Admission is free.
Parking
Parking lots open at 11:00 a.m. for fans to recall the fun and festivities of Saturdays in the fall by starting the day off with a tailgate in the parking lots listed below. Parking is free for all fans, but a tailgating pass is required to enter the B3 licensed lot. Fans can pick up these tailgating passes at the Robins Center Ticket Office from 9 a.m. to 5p.m. Monday through Friday. The passes will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fans are encouraged to park in lots B1, B2, and B7. Fans can also park in any lot along Richmond Way, but are reminded that entry to the stadium will be limited to the west entrance. The tailgating lot will be B3.
Stadium and Seating
Gates to Robins Stadium will open at 11:00 a.m. so you can check out the view from your 2014 season ticket location and visit the Customer Service Kiosk to take advantage of the chance to win great Richmond prizes. Gates A, B, C, and E will be open for fan entry. Fans will only be able to enter the stadium through the West Concourse. Seating will only be available on the west side of Robins Stadium. The East Concourse will be closed.
Social Media Campaign
The week of the spring game, Richmond athletics will launch a Social Media campaign for all fans to take part on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Look for #SpiderSpringSelfie Contest details on Friday, April 11 via Spider Athletics social media outlets.
Special Activities
Before, during and after the spring game, Spider fans of all ages are invited to partake in games, interactive inflatables and face painting, along with an Easter Bag-making on Lessing Plaza at the Family Fun Zone. Concessions will be available on the west concourse, starting at 12 p.m. Fans can also enjoy several spring practice highlights and interactive videos on Spider Vision before and during the game. Spider Athletics Ticket Office representatives will be on site to answer any questions regarding tickets for the upcoming 2014 season on Lessing Plaza.
Prior to the spring game, an Easter egg hunt will start at 12:30 p.m. at the Milhiser Green. Children 13 and under can enjoy Easter candy as well as prizes for collecting the most eggs and finding special golden eggs. For more information and to register, click here.
Spring Game
This year's spring game will be conducted as offense vs. defense and will consist of four 12-minute quarters. The game will feature a running clock, but each team will have three timeouts per half.
Scoring
The offense will earn points for first downs (1 pt.), extra points (1 pt.), two-point conversions (2 pts.), field goals (3 pts.) and touchdowns (6 pts.). The defense will earn points for forced punts (1 pt.), tackles for loss (1 pt.), pass break-ups (1 pt.), missed field goals (2 pts.), fourth down stops (2 pts.), sacks (2 pts.), two-point conversion stops (2 pts.), three downs and out (3 pts.), takeaways (3 pts.) and touchdowns (7 pts.).
Postgame
Following the spring game, there will be an autograph session featuring selected Spider football players on the track on the west side of Robins Stadium. Make sure you stick around for Spider women’s lacrosse, which will also be in action Saturday, April 19, hosting Atlantic 10 rival Massachusetts at 4:30 p.m. at Robins Stadium.
