Spider Football Practice No. 16 Report

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Spiders football team began its final week of training camp on Monday morning at Robins Stadium.
After an off-day on Sunday, the team was back at practice in full pads on Monday morning, going through practice for two hours on an overcast day in Richmond. The team reviewed work both in groups and as a team in anticipation of three scrimmages later this week.

- DL Terrence Fullum made a nice play on a quarterback rollout, putting pressure on QB Michael Rocco to force an incompletion.
- Later, WR Will McCombs made a diving reception over the middle of the field for 15 yards.
- LB Trey Moore nearly had an interception for the defense, while DL Nick Velardo made a diving play to bat down a pass on an intended screen.
Post-Practice Quotes
“I think it was a little bit of a slow start considering we had the day off yesterday, but we did a good job bouncing back toward the end of practice. The kids started to provide some energy and excitement. We had some of the young guys making plays and we kind of pulled together at the end. We have a long week ahead of us. It’s the last week before game prep, so the kids are excited and ready to roll.”
