Spider Football Moves Up In National Polls

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – After opening the 2014 season with a 55-10 win over Morehead State, the University of Richmond Spiders moved up in the rankings this week.
With its impressive win over Morehead State, the Richmond Spiders moved up to No. 17 in the latest Sports Network Poll released on Monday – up three spots from the previous week. In the FCS Coaches Poll, the Spiders jumped four spots to No. 20 after being ranked No. 24 in the preseason poll.
Under head coach Danny Rocco, the Spiders have been a constant in the national rankings the past three seasons. In total, Richmond has been nationally ranked 12 of the past 17 weeks.
Richmond returns to action next Saturday, Sept. 6 when it travels down I-64 to face ACC-foe Virginia at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN3.
