Mines To Coach In The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Spider football tight ends coach Fontel Mines will coach in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Saturday, Jan. 17 at the Stubhub Center in Carson, Calif.
Mines will coach the tight ends and will be the assistant special teams coach.
“I am blessed and humbled to have been selected to coach in this prestigious game,” commented Mines. “It features some of the nation’s best college student-athletes. I am eager and excited to learn from some of the top NFL coaches and players.”
The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl will feature the best seniors in college football instructed by seasoned NFL coaches and veterans.
Along with great competition and top coaching, the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl offers players unique access to the most influential decision makers in professional football including current and former players, coaches, scouts and trainers.
Through participation in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, players will join their future teammates in events designed to propel their draft status, increase visibility, introduce them to the NFLPA and NFL Players, Inc. and the business of football, and most importantly help build a platform to transition from their college careers.
The players that will be participating in the week long experience will have the opportunity of a lifetime both on the field and in the coaches meetings soaking up the professional football IQ and life skills knowledge for some of the best to ever play and coach the game.
Following his collegiate career at the University of Virginia, the Chicago Bears signed Mines as a free agent and played three years as a tight end.
