UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The No. 13-ranked University of Richmond Spiders football team will head north to face their first test opposite a CAA opponent on the road when they visit Rhode Island at Noon on Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday’s game will mark the 22nd meeting all-time between the two schools, with the Spiders holding a15-6 lead in the all-time series against the Rams. Richmond is 2-1 under Rocco vs. Rhody, outscoring the Rams 86-12 in those three games. The one loss was a 12-10 setback on the last trip to Rhode Island in 2013.
LAST TIME OUT
Richmond ran its way to a fourth-straight win as running backs Seth Fisher and Jacobi Green each topped 100 yards in a 27-14 victory over Elon. The duo became the first Richmond backs since Tim Hightower and Josh Vaughn on Sept. 8th 2007 to each top100 yards in a single game.
LAST MEETING WITH RHODE ISLAND - Oct. 18, 2014
Richmond’s defense forced six Ram turnovers en route to a 37-0 shutout Homecoming win over Rhode Island. Five of the six takeaways were interceptions by the Spiders, including two by David Jones. Four of the turnoers came in the first half, as Richmond built a 23-0 lead. The Spiders outgained the Rams 403-255 in total yards and held the Rams to 2 of 13 on third down conversions.
NATIONAL RANKING STREAK
The Spiders are ranked as the unanimous No. 13 team in the nation this week by both major polls, which marks the 19th consecutive week dating back to last season. Richmond was included in at least one of the major polls each week during the 2014 campaign, reaching as high as No. 8.
LAULETTA REMAINS STEADY
Quarterback Kyle Lauletta established new career highs in yards and touchdowns in the outing against Maine. Lauletta threw for 311 yards with four touchdowns against the Black Bears. He is currently second in the CAA in passing efficiency with a rating of 161.7 and second in passing with 237.0 yards per game.
NOTABLE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Richmond QB Kyle Lauletta has been a picture of efficiency so far this season and currently sits 10th in the nation with a 161.7 rating. WR Brian Brown has been the sophomore’s favorite target in the four games he has been active, collecting 109.8 yards per game through the air which ranks 10th in the nation as well.
