ESPN's Todd McShay Has A Message For Spider Fans

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - ESPN NFL Draft analyst and University of Richmond alum Todd McShay '99 was asked yesterday to give a pep talk to his former squad. McShay did not lack for passion in his response and did not hold back any punches.
"I'm fired up about this obviously," McShay began. "Danny Rocco, the head coach, doesn't need any help, he's done a great job. But know this! Lee Fitting (ESPN College GameDay Producer) is acting as Wizard of Oz here. He's pulling all the strings behind the scenes and he's got his GameDay crew, the circus coming to town. Well guess what, Lee Fitting is a JMU grad."
"Everyone is trying to stack it up against you Spiders!" McShay continued. "But here is what you need to know - JMU booked homecoming for Richmond. Are you serious? We won a National Championship in 2008! We're 17-15 in this rivalry! Go back and you look at it, Richmond is a better football program, a better football team every single year. 17 to 15 and they're booking homecoming on us?! Are you kidding me?! Block out the GameDay noise."
