Richmond Ranked No. 14/16 In National Polls

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Following a heartbreaking 21-20 loss at Villanova on Saturday, the University of Richmond football team moves into the No. 14 spot in the STATS FCS poll and back to No. 16 in the FCS Coaches poll. Both polls were released Monday afternoon.
The recognition marks the 24th consecutive week dating back to last season that the Spiders have been ranked nationally. Richmond was included in at least one of the major polls each week during the 2014 campaign, reaching as high as No. 8.
Richmond will conclude the 2015 regular season next weekend when it welcomes rival William & Mary to Robins Stadium in the 125th meeting for the Capital Cup. The “Oldest Rivalry in the South” will have a bit more added to it this season as it will be for the 2015 CAA Championship and a possible automatic berth to the FCS Playoffs. Throughout the game there will special 125-themed events including the selection of the greatest game in the history of the rivalry. The game will kick off at Noon and air live on CSN Mid-Atlantic.
