Richmond 125 Update and Tiebreaker Scenarios Announced

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - We're getting closer to the Capital Cup - the 125th football meeting between Richmond and William & Mary. This year's meeting has even more added to it. The Spiders, with a win, will secure a share of the CAA title and possibly an automatic berth to the 2015 FCS Playoffs.
The Spiders can clinch the outright automatic qualifier with a win and a Villanova loss to James Madison in Harrisonburg. That game will also kick off at Noon on Saturday. A Villanova win will send the tiebreaker between Richmond, Villanova and William & Mary to records against common opponents. The only common opponent each program has is James Madison and all three would be 1-0 opposite the Dukes. The tiebreaker and automatic bid to the playoffs then goes to the team with the highest Sagarin "ELO_CHESS" rating. More information about what the Sagarin "ELO_Chess" rating is can be found HERE. The rating cannot be determined until all of the FBS and FCS games this weekend are completed.
There is still time for fans to vote for their favorite game in the series by visiting capitalcup125.com. The contest selected as the most memorable in the series will be featured at Robins Stadium during this year's game.
