Richmond Ranked No. 9/12 In National Polls

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – Following a 30-25 defeat at New Hampshire on Saturday, the University of Richmond football team moves into the No. 9 spot in the STATS FCS poll and back to No. 12 in the FCS Coaches poll. Both polls were released Monday afternoon.
The recognition marks the 23rd consecutive week dating back to last season that the Spiders have been ranked nationally. Richmond was included in at least one of the major polls each week during the 2014 campaign, reaching as high as No. 8.
Rival William & Mary rises to the No. 7 spot in both polls with the highly anticipated 125th meeting for the Capital Cup coming up on Nov. 21 to conclude the regular season.
Richmond battled from the behind most of the game on Saturday at New Hampshire but was unable to complete the comeback, as the Wildcats managed to hold off the Spiders for the upset victory.
Richmond RB Jacobi Green continued his torrent hot streak, running for 154 yards on 22 attempts while adding four catches for 75 yards, putting him over 200 total yards for the second time in three weeks. WR Brian Brown hauled in eight catches for 108 yards, surpassing the century mark for the third-straight game. RB Gordon Collins took six kick returns for a team-season-high 152 total yards and used a career-long 45-yard rush to score his second touchdown of the season.
