Postgame Notes - FCS Second Round - William & Mary

OFFENSE
- Richmond’s 48 points scored was the highest total posted by a Spider team in the NCAA playoffs. Richmond scored 46 vs. Morgan State in the first round of 2014, which was the previous high. The Spiders scored 49 points in the 1968 Tangerine Bowl as the all-time post season high.
- Jacobi Green moved into fourth on the single-season rushing list with 1,426 yards. Green totaled 141 yards on the day, and has rushed for 100 or more yards in six-straight games (seven times on the season). Green’s three rushing touchdowns give him 18 on the season, which is third on the Spider single-season rushing touchdown list.
- Quarterback Kyle Lauletta joins Michael Strauss as the only two quarterbacks to surpass 3,000 yards in a single season. Lauletta passed for 146 yards to up his total to 3,058 yards on the season, which is the second-highest single season total. Lauletta also set career-highs with 32 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
- Richmond’s offense scored on its’ opening possession of the game for the sixth time in the last nine games.
- Brian Brown tallied 41 yards on four receptions and set a Spider single-season receiving yardage record with 1,221 yards.
- James Pavik equaled a career-high with three receptions, set a career-high with 44 yards receiving and set a career-long with a 24-yard reception.
- David Broadus set a career-high with 57 yards rushing and a career-long 26-yard carry.
- RB Seth Fisher returned to action after missing six games with a high ankle sprain. Fisher recorded 15 yards on five carries.
DEFENSE
- David Jones’ 50-yard punt return in the first quarter is the longest punt return of the season for Richmond and the longest since Justin Rogers returned one 54 yards at New Hampshire in 2010.
- David Jones broke two Spider records on a single play. His 100-yard interception return for a touchdown is the longest return ever by a Spider. The previous long was 95 recorded by Tommy Theodose against Davidson in 1955. The interception was his ninth of the season, breaking Jeff Nixon’s record of 8 for a single-season.
- Jones’ 100-yard interception return also ties the NCAA FCS record held by three other players.
- Jarriel Jordan’s third quarter interception was the first of his Spider career.
- The Spider defense has recorded 19 picks in the last 10 games, 20 on season to lead the CAA.
