Fan Information For Spider Football Spring Game

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond athletic department has released important fan information for the 2015 spring football game. The annual Spider spring game will be played at Robins Stadium at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. Admission is free.
Parking
Parking lots open at 11:00 a.m. for fans to recall the fun and festivities of Saturdays in the fall by starting the day off with a tailgate in the parking lots listed below. Parking is free for all fans, but a tailgating pass is required to enter the B3 licensed lot.
Fans can pick up these tailgating passes at the Robins Center Ticket Office from 9 a.m. to 5p.m. Monday through Friday. The passes will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fans are encouraged to park in lots B1, B2, and B7. Fans can also park in any lot along Richmond Way, but are reminded that entry to the stadium will be limited to the west entrance. The tailgating lot will be B3.
Stadium and Seating
Gates to Robins Stadium will open at 11:00 a.m. so you can check out the view from your 2015 season ticket location and visit the Customer Service Kiosk to take advantage of the chance to win great Richmond prizes. Gates A, B, C, and E will be open for fan entry. Fans will only be able to enter the stadium through the West Concourse. Seating will only be available on the west side of Robins Stadium. The East Concourse will be closed.
2015 Season Tickets
Richmond Spider Football 2015 season tickets will go on sale to the public on May 1.
Special Activities
Special promotions for the Spring Game will include the Sweet Frog Family Fun Zone on Lessing Plaza that will be fully equipped with face painters, sports inflatables, WebstUR and other local mascots. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to try on an official Richmond Spiders helmet and jersey for picture taking.
New to the Spring Game will be our competition for the Fastest Kid in Richmond. Kids 10 and younger who sign up in the plaza area will have the opportunity to run a 25-yard dash during halftime against other competitors, narrowing it down to our final two.
As always, coach Rocco will speak to the crowd and the senior Richmond players will be available post game for autographs.
Spring Game
This year's spring game will be conducted as offense vs. defense and will consist of four 12-minute quarters. The game will feature a running clock, but each team will have three timeouts per half. The offense will begin the spring game with a 15-0 lead over the defense thanks in part to offseason competition.
Scoring
The offense will earn points for first downs (1 pt.), extra points (1 pt.), two-point conversions (2 pts.), field goals (3 pts.) and touchdowns (6 pts.). The defense will earn points for forced punts (1 pt.), tackles for loss (1 pt.), pass break-ups (1 pt.), missed field goals (2 pts.), fourth down stops (2 pts.), sacks (2 pts.), two-point conversion stops (2 pts.), three downs and out (6 pts.), takeaways (6 pts.) and touchdowns (7 pts.).
Postgame
Following the spring game, there will be an autograph session featuring selected Spider football players on the track on the west side of Robins Stadium.
After the game, fans can walk over to Pitt Field and watch the Spider Baseball team play Rhode Island.
