Spider Football Practice No. 7 Report

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The No. 18-ranked University of Richmond Spiders football team continued training camp on Wednesday afternoon at Robins Stadium with the team’s seventh practice.
Wednesday’s practice was the best for the team since the start of camp. Working in shells, the team worked on 3rd down installation. The weather once again cooperated for Richmond, as the temperature was cooler than usual.
Practice Observations
- In 7-on-7 drills, LB Trevor Jones made a great play to intercept QB David Broadus on a short, sideline route.
- Later in 7-on-7’s, WR Reggie Diggs climbed the ladder to make a great catch for a 30-yard gain down the right sideline on a nice pass from QB Kyle Lauletta.
- In 11-on-11 drills, DB Jarriel Jordan had a pass breakup over the middle, while LB Ben Schrider nearly had an interception for the defense.
- Lauletta had a pair of nice connections in 11-on-11’s – one with WR Caleb Drake for a 15-yard gain and one with WR Dashon Tibbs for 10 yards.
- QB David Broadus and RB Jeremiah Hamlin connected for a big gainer, with Hamlin running an in-route out of the backfield.
