“We are really excited to continue our partnership with the Washington Redskins,” Richmond head coach Danny Rocco said. “We are grateful to Bruce Allen and the Redskin organization for their support of Spider football. This will be the third-consecutive season where one of our coaches will be involved with the Bill Walsh Minority Scholarship that allows one of our coaches to be on staff with the Redskins for a portion of their summer camp here in Richmond.”
Belin’s selection marke the third-straight year that a University of Richmond assistant coach has been chosen for the Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship. Last year, Spider assistant coach Fontel Mines earned the distinction, while former Spider assistant Byron Thweatt had the honor the year before.
“Coach Belin is a veteran coach who participated in this fellowship several years ago with the Jacksonville Jaguar organization," Rocco remarked. "We are excited for coach Belin to further his development with the support of the Redskin organization.”
This offseason has been a busy one for the Richmond coaches and staff, as they have visited NFL traning camps for the Washington Redskins, New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants.
