Fisher Named To Preseason Fabulous Fifty All-America Team
CHICAGO – University of Richmond Spiders RB Seth Fisher was named to College Sporting News 2015 Preseason Fabulous Fifty FCS All-America Team on Monday.
This is the fourth preseason accolade for Fisher, who has already been tabbed as a First-Team Preseason All-American by STATS and USA College Football, as well as Preseason All-CAA. Fisher is one seven CAA Football student-athletes to earn the accolade from College Sporting News.
Fisher led the team with 777 rushing yards on 170 carries with 12 touchdowns a season ago while also catching 17 passes for 139 yards and four touchdowns.
In the wake of the Spiders’ first playoff berth since 2009 he would be named to the Second-Team VaSID All-State, All-CAA First Team and earn All-American recognition from Beyond Sports Network and The Sports Network.
Unlike other All-American teams, the CSN honor’s squad is designed to be like a real team, capable of taking the field and competing in a game. It includes everything from quarterbacks, who can run or pass and often-overlooked fullbacks, to long snappers and other special team performers. The Fabulous Fifty also emphasizes players who have exhibited character and other team-oriented traits, not just lofty statistics, or talent.

The Richmond Spiders football team will open the 2015 season on the road in College Park, Md. against Big Ten foe Maryland on September 5.
