Spider Football Practice Report No. 1

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Spiders football team began training camp with the first practice of the season on Thursday afternoon at Robins Stadium.
The team practiced without pads, working on first and second down installation, base fundamentals and techniques.
Practice Observations
- In team drills, QB Kyle Lauletta connected with Preseason All-CAA WR Brian Brown for a nice, 15-yard completion down the right sideline.
- RB Jacobi Green had a solid practice, running for a 10-yard gain on a nice cutback in the backfield.
- Lauletta was nearly perfect on rollouts, connecting with TE Stephon Jacob for a 15-yard gain and WR Adam Sahd for a 17-yard catch-and-run.
- CAA commissioner Tom Yeager came out to the final 45 minutes of practice. Yeager is retiring following the season after 31 years.

The Richmond Spiders football team will open the 2015 season on the road in College Park, Md. against Big Ten foe Maryland on September 5.
