Craig Named To Buck Buchanan Award Watch List

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – With his last regular season home game just a few days away, senior Winston Craig of the University of Richmond football team was recognized for his outstanding final season.
Craig, who currently leads the CAA with 7.5 sacks on the year, was named to the Buck Buchanan Award Watch List. The Buchanan Award honors the FCS National Defensive Player of the Year.
The Greensboro, N.C. native has been a force all season long, racking up three games with two or more sacks and helping the Spiders rank second nationally with under 150 passing yards allowed per game.
This season alone, Craig has 35 tackles, 9.5 of which have come behind the line of scrimmage, he also has an interception and a blocked field goal to his name.
One more sack this year and Craig will rank in the top-10 in a single season in Richmond program history.
For his career, Craig has 142 tackles, 12.5 sacks and 18.5 tackles for a loss.
Craig and his senior classmates will be honored on the field pregame before Saturday’s game against Delaware. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. with the pregame ceremony scheduled for 3:15.
