Spiders Ranked #8 In Final Playoff Standings

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The anticipation is building. It’s the time of year that every student-athlete dreams of, the playoffs.
With less than week left before the official NCAA Selection Show (Sunday, November 20 at 11 a.m.), the Richmond Spiders learned where they sat entering the final regular season game as the NCAA Selection Committee released the final playoff standings of the year, placing Richmond at #8 in the standings.
The Spiders, who picked up their eighth victory of the year last week with a convincing 31-17 home win over Delaware, will attempt to grab a stronger hold on a first-round bye with a victory this weekend over long-standing rival William & Mary in the 127th meeting in the “South’s Oldest Rivalry”.
A total of 24 teams make the FCS playoffs, with the top-eight seeds earning a bye before hosting a second round matchup on their home fields.
