Three Former Spiders Compete At Panthers Rookie Camp

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The motto of the NFC Champion Carolina Panthers is “Keep Pounding.”
That’s a good motto for three former Spiders, Jacobi Green, Hunter Westfall and Richard Muldrow, who participated in the Panthers’ Rookie Camp this past weekend in pursuit of their dream of playing in the NFL.
Green is the most recent Spider, putting together an All-American senior season this past fall. The Jacksonville, Fla. Native ran for 1,563 yards this past season, which ranked fourth in a single season in Richmond history. His 21 rushing touchdowns were a program-record and his 22 total touchdowns ranked second all-time behind Tim Hightower’s 23 in 2007.
He burst onto the scene with a 236-yard, five-touchdown performance at James Madison on Oct. 24 and has never looked back. He has rattled off seven-straight performances of 100 or more yards and a second 200-yard outing opposite William & Mary in the regular season finale. He ran for 137 yards last weekend at Illinois State in the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs and contributed four touchdowns to guide the Spiders to a 39-27 victory and berth into the semifinals for the first time since the 2008, National Championship season.
Muldrow (’12) is a professional football veteran, playing three years of Arena Football, two of which came with the New Orleans Vodoo of the AFL. At Richmond, he was a critical part of the Spiders’ offensive line in 2010 and 2011, starting 22 straight games to close out his career.
Westfall (’15) is a Charlotte, N.C. native and a 2015 graduate of Richmond. He played four years at the tight end spot, earning 22 starts in his final two seasons with the Spiders. In his final two years, he had 32 receptions for 358 yards and three touchdowns.
