Howard earns invite to Chargers Camp

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – Not done yet.
Local product and two-year captain Omar Howard will get an opportunity to continue his football career as the Midlothian, Va. native accepted an invitation to join the Los Angeles Chargers at their mini-camp in two weeks.
Howard, a two-time All-CAA selection and 2017 All-American, was the anchor in the middle of the Spiders' defense for two-plus years, making 38 consecutive starts to conclude his time at Richmond.
He was a leader on all three of the Spiders' FCS Playoff teams, including the 2015 CAA Champions and FCS Semifinalist.
With 349 career tackles, Howard ranks in the top-10 all-time in the category and finished his career with back-to-back 100 tackle seasons.
In addition, he added two interceptions, 20.5 tackles for a loss, sick sacks and three forced fumbles.
