Special projects go above and beyond the day-to-day expenses of the department and help to separate the Richmond student-athlete experience from some of our other peer institutions.
- Athletic Facilities
- Richmond Athletics continues to invest in facilities around campus that can enhance the student-athlete experience. Whether it is for competition, academic support or improved health and wellness, we are committed to providing first-class facilities for all student-athletes.

- Athletic Endowments
- To ensure the long-term success of Richmond student-athletes, the Athletic Department has created two types of endowments, program and position. Endowed gifts are invested and the earned income provides additional support for Spider Athletics in perpetuity. These funds, in addition to annual donations, help to provide opportunities for student-athletes to grow in the classroom, in competition and as people.
- Program Endowments
- With the ever-increasing costs to athletic departments, program endowments help to sustain the competitive budgets of all Spider programs. Usually being assigned to the greatest need of the program, endowed support helps these programs plan for the future.
- Position Endowments
- Endowing a position, such as a head coach, allows Richmond Athletics to recruit and retain elite coaches and staff to help develop student-athletes into graduates that all alumni will be proud to call Spiders.
