CHAMPIONS!: Spiders Grind Out Capital Cup Victory, Earn Share of CAA Title
The University of Richmond football team grinded out a 27-26 victory over William & Mary Saturday to regain possession of the Capital Cup Presented By C&F Bank and earn a share of the 2023 Coastal Athletic Association title. With the win, Richmond takes over the all-time series lead, 65-64-5, in "The South's Oldest Rivalry" and earns its 13th conference title and fifth as co-champions in the CAA. UAlbany and Villanova are co-champions along with Richmond.Â

The University of Richmond football team will make its 13th NCAA FCS playoff appearance when it hosts North Carolina Central on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. at Robins Stadium.

The Spiders earned the playoff berth off an 8-3 record including six-straight wins to end the season and earn a share of its fifth CAA title.

North Carolina Central, a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, carries a 9-2 record into Robins Stadium and is currently ranked 14 in the AFCA Coaches' Poll and 17 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll. The Spiders and Eagles will meet for the first time Saturday. Saturday's game marks North Carolina Central's first appearance in the FCS Playoffs.Â
Richmond's history in the NCAA FCS playoffs has been highlighted by semifinals appearances in 2007, 2015 and 2016 and, of course, the National Championship victory in 2008.

Saturday's game marks the 13th time Richmond has hosted a playoff game. The team is 9-3 when playing at home.

Last season, the Spiders shut out Davidson, 41-10, in the First Round game at Robins Stadium before traveling to Sacramento State for the Second Round game.

FCS Playoffs Ticketing Information
Season ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase their same seats starting tomorrow, Nov. 20th at 10:00 a.m. All season ticket holders have until Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 10:00 a.m. to secure their seats. After that time, all seats will be released and on sale to the general public.

Season ticket holders who purchased a season parking pass, will be sent their playoff parking pass(es) via email on Wednesday, Nov. 22 after they secured their playoff ticket(s). Parking passes will be in PDF format and will be able to print the parking pass(es) or present on your phone to show event staff when you enter the lot on gameday.
