“I’m grateful for the opportunity presented 23 years ago to become one of the early female track & field and cross country coaches who were provided the opportunity to oversee both the men’s and women’s programs as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country”, said Taylor. “My time as an athlete were in the early years of Title IX reform. It was a landmark piece of legislation, and not only provided opportunities for me but also opened doors of opportunity for me as a coach. It empowered women to excel and shine on the track, and demonstrated that dreams have no gender. Whether it’s as athletes and/or coaches, I want to see young women take full advantage of the opportunities available to them."
In 2010, along with husband, Steve, they guided the Spider Men to 24th place in the NCAA D1 Cross Country Championship, a fourth-place finish in the NCAA Southeast Region and witnessed both the men and women lay claim to Atlantic 10 Conference Cross Country Championship titles.
