Nick Austin is in his first year as an assistant coach for Adam Decker after finishing his career last spring with the fifth best career scoring average in school history.
Austin finished his career with a 74.18 scoring average, which ranks fifth on the Spider all-time career list. He posted a career-low 70.50 scoring average as a sophomore.
The Midlothia, Va. native was a two-time All-Atlantic 10 selection and two time Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar Team selection for the Spiders.
He tied for first at the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championship as a sophomore and posted seven career top-10 finishes.
Austin played in the 2011 U.S. Amateur and advanced to the sectional qualifying of the U.S. Open in 20112.
He was a three-time AAA District Player of the Year at James River High in Midlothian, earning AAA Regional Medalist honors three-straight years and was a two-time AAA Regional Player of the Year. He was the runner-up for the AAA State Championship as a sophomore and junior and took third as a senior.
