Dan Wacker is in his fourth year as assistant director of athletic public relations at the University of Richmond in 2021-22. Wacker is the primary contact for Spider baseball, swimming & diving and cross country while also the secondary contact for the UR football program.

Wacker joins the Spiders after spending the three years at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as an assistant director of strategic communications. During his time at UNCG, he was the primary contact for baseball, women’s basketball, volleyball, men’s tennis and women’s tennis. Additionally, he was the secondary contact for the men’s basketball program and accompanied the team to the NCAA Tournament in Boise in March.

Wacker has been the Spartan baseball contact for the last three seasons, including an NCAA Tournament berth in 2017. He has covered 11 UNCG players selected in the Major League Baseball Draft and three All-America honorees.

Prior to UNCG, Wacker was the graduate assistant in the sports information department at Indiana State. He served as the primary contact for women’s soccer and baseball. He also had five years of experience as a student assistant at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.

Wacker earned his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise and sports science from Wisconsin – La Crosse in 2014. He completed his Master of Science in Sport Management at Indiana State in 2016.

Wacker is married to the former Codi Farmer and they have a son, Brooks. They reside in Midlothian.
