John Rodriguez joined the University of Richmond football staff as a Football Operations and Recruiting Assistant in 2026. Rodriguez currently assists the Adam Tate, Director of Football Operations and Recruiting Coordinator, with the day-to-day administration, logistics and operations of the Spiders football program.

Prior to joining Richmond, Rodriguez worked with Kansas Athletics, where he worked with the football program in the player development, scouting, and recruiting departments. In that role, he supported student-athlete development initiatives, helped create resources for players and their families, and assisted with recruiting and talent evaluation for the classes of 2027, 2028 and 2029. Rodriguez also contributed to gameday recruiting operations and prospective student-athlete visit planning, including coordinating travel and logistics for coaches’ recruiting trips to high schools. Additionally, he assisted with life skills programming, player development initiatives and the onboarding process for incoming freshmen and transfers.

Rodriguez earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management with a minor in Psychology from the University of Kansas in 2025 and will be pursuing a master’s degree beginning in January 2027.
