Rebecca Furth joined the Richmond staff during the 2021-22 season as an assistant athletic trainer. After working four seasons with women's lacrosse, Furth now works with the Richmond football and men's and women's tennis programs.
Furth joined the Spiders after spending the 2020-21 season as the athletic trainer at Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond. Furth helped out the UR field hockey program during the 2021 COVID-19 spring season when high school sports were canceled.
Furth spent two years as a research assistant at the University of Virginia, working with the women's soccer program. She tracked, implemented and analyzed data to better improve the performance of athletes and decrease risk of injury. Furth also served as a graduate assistant with the University of Virginia's Fitness & Wellness department.
Furth graduated from East Carolina in 2018. She gained experience at ECU working as an athletic training student with women's soccer, track & field, cross country, women's volleyball and softball.
Furth is a certified athletic trainer through BOC, licensed in the commonwealth of Virginia and a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
